Flower vendor killed in motorcycle crash in Shahbagh
A female flower vendor was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Thursday morning.
The victim was identified as Mukta Akhter, 45, who used to sell flowers in the Shahbagh and Shaheed Minar areas, her relatives said.
The accident occurred around 10:30 am in front of the gate of Dhaka Nursing College in Shahbagh when Mukta was getting off a rickshaw.
A motorcycle hit her from behind, leaving her critically injured.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where she was admitted to the One Stop Emergency Centre. She succumbed to her injuries around noon while undergoing treatment.

Mukta was the daughter of Ijar Ali of Noapara area in Jashore Sadar. She had been living with her family in a rented house in the Rani Market area of Kamrangirchar.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue and the matter has been reported to the concerned police station.

Three killed in Ctg motorcycle accidents
Three people, including two motorcyclists and a pedestrian, were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram on Wednesday night.
Police said the accidents took place in Halishahar area of the Faujdarhat–Port Link Road and near Akmal Ali Point in port area.
The deceased were identified as Shahriar Aziz Anik, 26, Md Sohan, 25, and a pedestrian named Shahjahan, 48.
Halishahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Zakir Hossain said that around 11:30pm, a motorcycle lost control on the rain-slicked Faujdarhat Toll Road near Chittagong Filling Station and collided with another vehicle from behind.

The crash left Shahriar and Sohan dead on the spot. Their bodies were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue, the OC added.
In another incident, Shahjahan died after being hit by a speeding motorcycle on Ring Road near Akmal Ali Link Road under EPZ Police Station.
EPZ Police Station said the victim was walking along the roadside when the motorcycle struck him. He sustained critical injuries and died on the way to hospital.
The motorcyclist fled the scene, leaving the bike behind. Police later seized the vehicle.

2 teenagers die in Natore motorcycle crash
Two teenage students died and another got injured when their motorcycle lost control and crashed into a wall in Naldanga upazila, Natore on Sunday evening.
The deceased were identified as Sadnan Safa, 14, a class 8 student and Labib Hasan Sun, 16, a class 10 student, both from Diyar Kazipur village. The injured, Siam Sheikh, 14, also a class eight student, remains in critical condition at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Naldanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman said the three cousins were traveling from Trimohani Bazar to Diyar’s Kazipur Chowdhurypara on the Trimohani-Mirzapur rural road around 8pm. The motorcycle, reportedly speeding, lost control at a bend and crashed into the brick wall of a house, leaving them injured.
2 die in separate Natore road accidents
Locals rushed to their aid and took them to Natore Sadar Hospital. Labib died while undergoing treatment, while Sadnan succumbed to his injuries en route to RMCH.
Police inspected the scene and sent the bodies to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. “After completing the legal formalities, the bodies will be handed over to their families,” said the OC.

MBSTU student killed in Tangail motorcycle crash
A third-year student of a public university was killed in Tangail after his motorcycle crashed into another two-wheeler Thursday night, police said.
The deceased identified as Nurul Absar Jewel, 24, was a student of the textile department of the Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) and from Ramu upazila, Cox's Bazar.

"The accident occurred around 7:30pm in the Sabalia area of Tangail town as Jewel's motorcycle collided with another motorcycle. He immediately died from the impact of the crash," Sub-Inspector Md Nabin, in-charge of Tangail General Hospital Police Box, said.
The body has been sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, he added.
